Argus is the final content of Legion: three zones on the ruined eredar homeworld, two reputations, its own currency, invasion points and the raid Antorus, the Burning Throne. The three zones are Krokuun, Mac'Aree (home to the city of Eredath) and the Antoran Wastes.
How to unlock Argus
- Level 110 and the completed quest Uniting the Isles, which means World Quests unlocked.
- Khadgar calls you to Dalaran and hands you The Hand of Fate — that is what starts the Shadows of Argus campaign.
- Chapter 1 is the landing on Krokuun. Chapter 2 is Mac'Aree, and the invasion points open once it is done. Chapter 3 is the Seat of the Triumvirate dungeon and the preparations for the assault on Antorus.
The Vindicaar — your base on Argus
The draenei ship the teleports run from, where the quartermasters stand and the invasion points are launched. As the campaign goes on, it unlocks:
- Lightforged Beacons — a fast-travel network. Plant them across all three zones right away.
- The Netherlight Crucible — the station that upgrades your artifact relics.
- The ship's combat abilities for the story quests: Light's Judgment, Arcane Cloaking and others.
The Netherlight Crucible is not cosmetic, it is a noticeable boost to your character's power. Push the campaign at least that far, even if you have no interest in raiding.
Currency and gear
- Veiled Argunite drops from rares and out of chests, and comes from World Quests (30–60) and weekly quests (up to several hundred).
- You spend it at Thaumaturge Vashreen on the Vindicaar: around 650 units for a "Relinquished" item of level 910+. You pick the slot yourself, which is handy for plugging the slots that let you down.
- Legendaries are bought separately, for Wakening Essence from Arcanomancer Vridiel in Dalaran: 1000 for a new one, 300 to upgrade one you already have to item level 1000.
Two reputations
Both are earned the same way: the story, World Quests and weekly quests, rares, and the emissary (1500 reputation).
| Faction | Quartermaster | Main reward |
|---|---|---|
| Army of the Light | Vindicator Jaelaana | The Lightforged Warframe mount at Exalted (around 625,000 gold); felcrushers from the paragon cache |
| Argussian Reach | Toraan the Revered | Six colours of the Argussian ruinstrider mount at 10,000 gold each at Exalted |
Both factions matter beyond Legion as well: in the next expansion they unlock allied races. If you are planning for those, take them to Exalted.
Invasion points and farming
- Regular invasion points — a short scenario with a boss and chests. They give argunite, reputation and gear.
- Greater invasion points — raid bosses out in the open, loot from item level 930, lootable once a week. There are six bosses, rotating weekly; all six give the achievement Invasion Obliteration (six weeks minimum).
- There are several dozen rares on Argus, they respawn quickly and farm beautifully in a group. Houndmaster Kerrax in the Antoran Wastes drops the Vile Fiend — around a 3.5% chance.
Antorus, the Burning Throne
The final Legion raid, 11 bosses, with the entrance in the Antoran Wastes. It starts with Garothi Worldbreaker, then branches into several directions, and Aggramar and Argus the Unmaker come strictly at the end.
| Difficulty | Regular bosses | Final boss |
|---|---|---|
| Raid Finder | 915+ | 925+ |
| Normal | 930+ | 940+ |
| Heroic | 945+ | 955+ |
| Mythic | 960+ | 970+ |
