Azsuna: zone guide

Asyncio 26 September 2026 108

Azsuna is the south-western zone of the Broken Isles and the most popular place to start Legion. It scales from 98 to 110, so you can head there at any point.

Getting there and where to start

  • After the scenario on the Broken Shore, Khadgar in Dalaran offers you a choice of four zones. Pick Azsuna and the portal drops you on the wreck-strewn beach in the south.
  • What the zone is about: help the ghostly Prince Farondis recover the Tidestone of Golganneth and stop Azshara's naga from opening a path for the Legion.
  • A convenient route: south (the intro) → west and north along the coast (the blue dragons, Senegos, Runas) → Nar'thalas Academy and the naga → the giants in the north-east → the pirates in the south-east.

The story is split into five chapters and completes the achievement Azsuna-matata, which counts towards Loremaster of Legion and, beyond that, towards Pathfinder. The Azshara thread ends with a story run into the Eye of Azshara.

Reputation: Court of Farondis

The zone faction is the Court of Farondis. The quartermaster Veridis Fallon stands in the Ruined Sanctum (46.8, 41.4).

  • Completing the whole story gets you roughly to Honored.
  • At 110 the main source is World Quests, especially the package for four emissary quests.
  • Treasures and rares drop faction insignia: the greater one gives 1500 at once.
  • Tabards do not speed up reputation in Legion.

Once you hit Exalted, paragon kicks in: every 10,000 reputation gives a Farondis Chest with a chance at the flying Cloudwing Hippogryph.

Dungeons in the zone

  • Eye of Azshara — out in the open air, 5 bosses in a circle: Warlord Parjesh, Lady Hatecoil, Serpentrix, King Deepbeard and Wrath of Azshara. Plenty of roaming naga, so it is easy to drag in an extra pack.
  • Vault of the Wardens — 5 bosses, with Cordana Felsong at the end. The demon hunter intro starts from here.

Both are available on Heroic and Mythic and are part of the Mythic+ rotation.

Treasures, rares and world bosses

  • Treasures of Azsuna — 35 chests, many of them underwater or in caves. The treasure map from the quartermaster saves you hours.
  • Adventurer of Azsuna — 25 encounters. Some of the rares do not roam, but are summoned with an item next to their spawn point.
  • The zone's world bosses are Withered J'im and Levantus. One of them is up each week, and the loot is once per character.

The zone's secret: ephemeral crystals

Hundreds of ephemeral crystal spawn points are scattered across Azsuna, but only five are active at any one time. Activate all five and the Reins of the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph drop into your bags.

Dying along the way resets your progress. The crystals come back 12–24 hours after somebody takes the mount, and only one player per realm gets it each cycle. Crank your view distance up to maximum and look near cave entrances and up on the cliffs.

What you need for Pathfinder

  • Clear the whole map fog for the zone — part of the Broken Isles Explorer achievement. You cannot fly until Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two, so ride the perimeter straight away and open all nine flight points.
  • Finish the story: Azsuna-matata.
  • Take the Court of Farondis to Revered — that is your contribution to Broken Isles Diplomat.

Part One gives +20% movement speed on the isles, Part Two gives you flying itself, and both are account-wide.
