How to start playing on Azeron

Step by step: registration, the WoW Legion 7.3.5 client, the server address and your first login. Almost every problem a newcomer runs into is either the wrong client version or a typo in the server address.

What kind of server this is

• World of Warcraft: Legion, client 7.3.5, build 26365. Maximum level is 110.
• Free to play: no subscription and no need to buy expansions.
• The version is locked at 7.3.5 and will not be updated.
• Experience (mobs, quests, exploring zones) is x10. Drop, gold, honor and reputation are x5.
• Closed beta is under way: bugs and database wipes are possible.

Step 1. Registration

1. Open the Start Playing page on the site and fill in the registration form. You cannot create an account inside the game.
2. The login is 3–16 characters, Latin letters only. That is exactly what you type in the login window.
3. Give a working e-mail and a password different from the ones you use on other sites.
4. Follow the link from the e-mail. Without a confirmed e-mail you cannot post on the forum. No e-mail — check your spam folder.

One account = game + account panel + forum. There is no need to register on the forum separately.

Step 2. The 7.3.5 client

1. Download the client from the link on the Start Playing page. You need exactly version 7.3.5 (26365) — others will not connect to the server.
2. Unpack it into a folder with a short path, with no non-Latin letters and no spaces, for example D:\Games\WoW735.
3. Do not install it into C:\Program Files: Windows will not let the game save its settings.
4. Run Wow-64.exe on a 64-bit system, Wow.exe on a 32-bit one.

A 7.3.5 client from another server will do — just change the address.

Step 3. The server address (realmlist)

In Legion the address is not written in realmlist.wtf, but in the file <game folder>\WTF\Config.wtf.

1. Open Config.wtf in Notepad.
2. Find the SET portal line (if there is none, add it at the end of the file) and make it look like this:

SET portal "legion.azeron.org"

3. Save the file and launch the game — the address will be shown at the bottom of the login window.

The quotation marks are mandatory and there must be no extra spaces. One typo and the client hangs forever on "Connecting to server". If your edits do not help, check that you are editing the Config.wtf in the exact folder you launch the game from.

Step 4. First login

• In the account field type the login only, without "@" and without the e-mail. The login is not case-sensitive, the password is.
• Pick a realm, then "Create Character".
• Faction matters more than race: Alliance and Horde cannot be in the same group or guild and do not see each other's chat. Play the same side as your friends.
• The Demon Hunter starts at level 98 and requires a level 70+ character on this same server. The Death Knight also starts at a high level.

Step 5. What next

1. Finish the starting zone — at x10 rates that is a matter of minutes.
2. Buy bigger bags and pick up professions: two primary ones plus Cooking, Fishing and First Aid.
3. After that — the 1–100 and 100–110 leveling guides in the Guides section.

The site and your account panel

In the account panel (same login and password): characters, password change, Telegram linking, login history and coins. Coins buy a name, appearance, race or faction change and restoration of a deleted character.

Found a bug — check the list of known ones, then describe it in a thread: what you were doing, what happened, what should have happened. Add the character name, level, the quest or item ID and a screenshot.
