The final stretch of leveling: from 98 to 110 in the Broken Isles. The experience rate is x10, so the route comes out very short indeed.
The start: how to get into Legion
- At level 98 a summons from Khadgar reaches you in your capital city — the quest The Legion Returns. The chain is mandatory for everyone.
- Complete the introductory scenario "Battle for the Broken Shore" — solo, 15–20 minutes, and it is practically impossible to die in there.
- Return to the capital and pick up the quest that flies you to Dalaran: it becomes your hub for the whole expansion.
- From Dalaran, head to your Class Order Hall for the artifact.
The artifact — straight away
- Your first artifact comes from a short chain of 10–20 minutes. Until you have it you are swinging a level 100 weapon and you are noticeably weaker.
- Artifact Power drops from everywhere: quests, dungeons, chests. There is no need to farm it deliberately while leveling.
- Artifact Knowledge is shared across the account and builds up quickly on 7.3.5 — an alt levels its weapon many times faster.
- Artifacts for your other specializations are picked up with separate quests at any time.
A relic raises the weapon's item level directly, so a relic with a higher ilvl is almost always better — even if it boosts a trait you do not like.
Leveling zones
| Zone | Levels | Reputation |
|---|---|---|
| Azsuna | 98–110 | Court of Farondis |
| Val'sharah | 98–110 | Dreamweavers |
| Stormheim | 98–110 | Valarjar |
| Highmountain | 98–110 | Highmountain Tribe |
| Suramar | 110 only | The Nightfallen |
- The first four zones can be done in any order — there is no "wrong" one.
- A zone holds somewhere around 50–60 quests. At x10 a single cleared zone is worth several levels, and you usually reach 110 in one and a half to two zones.
- You will need the story of all five zones anyway for the Loremaster of Legion achievement, and that one is part of Pathfinder, which means flying.
- The zone dungeons scale as well: one run at x10 is a level and a bit, plus gear and Artifact Power.
How to go faster
- Take every quest at a hub and clear the whole hub out; do not run half the map for single "!" markers.
- Do not open a third zone until you have squeezed the first two dry: the travelling eats more time than it seems.
- Keep yourself in the dungeon queue in the background — at x10 a run always pays for itself.
- Do not skip the Class Order Hall quests that send you into dungeons: you need them for the campaign anyway.
- Heirlooms work here too — do not take them off before 110.
The Order Hall campaign is gated by Order Resources. Do not pour them into useless missions in the first few days — you will need several hundred at the mandatory stages.
You are 110. What now
- World Quests. They are unlocked by the quest Uniting the Isles — you need Friendly with every faction of the Isles. The reward is the Flight Master's Whistle. This is your main source of gear, gold, reputation and Artifact Power.
- Suramar. A long chain with Nightfallen reputation; it unlocks the Mythic dungeons the Arcway and Court of Stars.
- Flying. "Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part One": explore 5 zones, complete 100 different World Quests, finish the Order Hall campaign, earn "Loremaster of Legion" and reach Revered with six factions. Part Two adds the Broken Shore and reputation with the Armies of Legionfall.
- Argus — three zones, their own reputations and the Antorus raid.
- Mythic+ and raids — once your ilvl from World Quests and Heroics gets to roughly 850–870.
Your first move at 110 is a lap of World Quests: the free rewards are almost always better than whatever you finished leveling in.
