Legion has five raids. On 7.3.5 only the last one is current — Antorus, the Burning Throne; the rest are run for appearances, mounts and achievements.
All the raids in order
| Raid | Bosses | Patch | LFR | Normal | Heroic | Mythic |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Emerald Nightmare | 7 | 7.0 | 835 | 850 | 865 | 880 |
| Trial of Valor | 3 | 7.1 | 845–850 | 860–865 | 875–880 | 890–895 |
| The Nighthold | 10 | 7.1.5 | 855–865 | 870–880 | 885–895 | 900–910 |
| Tomb of Sargeras | 9 | 7.2.5 | 885–895 | 900–910 | 915–925 | 930–940 |
| Antorus, the Burning Throne | 11 | 7.3.2 | 915–925 | 930–940 | 945–955 | 960–970 |
The higher item level in each range comes from the last bosses of the raid (Xavius, Gul'dan, Kil'jaeden, Argus).
The four difficulties
- Raid Finder (LFR) — 10–30 players through automatic matchmaking, the raid is split into wings, and the mechanics are simplified.
- Normal — 10–30 players, you put the group together yourself, and the size adjusts automatically.
- Heroic — the same 10–30, but the bosses have more damage and health plus a couple of new mechanics.
- Mythic — strictly 20 players, and the bosses have mechanics that do not exist on the other difficulties. The best loot and mounts.
LFR, loot and the reset
- You queue through the Group Finder (the I key), the "Raid Finder" tab. There is a minimum ilvl: 835 for The Emerald Nightmare, 915 for Antorus.
- The wings open one after another: the next one becomes available once you have cleared the previous one.
- Personal loot: items drop to you personally, with no master looter handing things out. In LFR loot cannot be traded at all; on Normal and above you can pass an item to a teammate if it is not an upgrade for you.
- Loot from a boss is once a week per difficulty. Kill it on Heroic and on Normal and you get loot from both; repeat kills on the same difficulty are empty.
- The reset is shared and happens once a week (on EU realms, overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday). Extra loot comes from bonus rolls (Seal of Broken Fate).
There is no point starting your progression in the old raids: 850–910 gear is picked up faster and more easily on Argus and in Mythic+.
How to get into Antorus
- The target is 915 ilvl for LFR and 930+ for Normal.
- World Quests and emissary caches on the Broken Isles and Argus.
- Greater Invasion Points on Argus: raid bosses out in the open, loot from 930, once a week each.
- 910 gear for Veiled Argunite from the vendor on the Vindicaar — use it to cover your worst slots.
- Mythic+ keystones and the weekly chest in your Class Order Hall.
- Don't forget the Netherlight Crucible: relic upgrades give you several artifact levels for free.
In short
- Antorus is the current raid; the rest are for appearances and achievements.
- LFR → Normal → Heroic → Mythic, with loot rising by roughly 15 item levels per step.
- Personal loot, a reset once a week, and a separate lockout for each difficulty.
- You need 915 ilvl to get into Antorus: Argus, invasions, Mythic+.
